Retracted article: A. Hosseini and F. Ayatollah Zadeh Shirazi, “Devaney and Li–Yorke Chaos in generalized shift systems on functional Alexandroff spaces,” Open Journal of Mathematical Sciences 2026, 10, 645–651. https://doi.org/10.30538/oms2026.0309.
The Editors of the Open Journal of Mathematical Sciences have retracted this article.
Following publication, Prof. Fatemah Ayatollah Zadeh Shirazi contacted the journal and stated that she had neither participated in the preparation or submission of the manuscript nor consented to being listed as an author. The journal subsequently initiated an investigation into the authorship and submission of the article.
During the investigation, the submitting author acknowledged that Prof. Shirazi had been included as a co-author without obtaining her final confirmation and consent. The submitting author further acknowledged that an incorrect institutional email address for Prof. Shirazi had been provided during the submission process.
The Editors determined that the inclusion of an individual as an author without that individual’s knowledge and explicit consent is inconsistent with established standards of authorship and publication ethics. Because the required authorship consent had not been obtained from all listed authors prior to submission and publication, the Editors concluded that the published authorship record could not be maintained.
The Editors also determined that a post-publication correction to the author list would not adequately resolve the matter, as the authorship and submission process did not satisfy the journal’s requirements at the time the manuscript was submitted and published. The article is therefore retracted to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record.
This retraction relates specifically to the authorship and submission process and does not constitute, in itself, a finding regarding the validity of the mathematical results presented in the article.
Prof. Shirazi requested that her name be removed from the publication. The submitting author acknowledged the circumstances, accepted responsibility for the authorship oversight, and agreed to cooperate with the corrective action taken by the journal.
The Editors and the Publisher regret the circumstances that led to this retraction and apologize to Prof. Shirazi, the journal’s readers, and the academic community.
